Living with an English Bulldog means your days are filled with snorts, snoozes, slobbery kisses, and endless charm. Today, I’m sharing a glimpse into a typical day with my Bulldog, Bruno — a stubborn, lovable, lazy, but totally unforgettable companion. Think of this as a diary from a real Bulldog household.read more...
🌅 7:30 AM – The “Snore Alarm”
No need for a regular alarm clock when you have a Bulldog. My mornings begin with the deep, rhythmic snore of Bruno. He’s usually stretched out on one side of the bed, eyes half-shut, ears perked, and snoring like an old engine. The moment I stir, his tail starts thumping against the mattress like a drumroll.
🍳 8:00 AM – Breakfast Fit for a Bulldog King
Bruno gets a breakfast of soaked kibble mixed with a little boiled chicken and sometimes a slice of apple. As soon as he sees his bowl, he starts making excited snorting sounds and taps his paws like he’s in a hurry. Once finished, he gives me the “is that all?” look. Classic Bruno.
🐾 9:30 AM – Walk Time (Short but Sweet)
Walks are Bruno’s favorite… for about 15 minutes. Bulldogs aren’t marathon dogs — they’re more “slow stroll with lots of sniffing” types. He visits his favorite tree at the park, sniffs every inch of the sidewalk, and occasionally sits down mid-walk just to rest or protest.read more...
😴 12:00 PM – The Legendary Nap
After his walk, it’s nap time. He curls up on the couch with his toys, lets out a deep sigh, and drifts off. His paws twitch like he’s dreaming of chasing squirrels (even though he never actually chases anything). That snore returns, louder than ever.
🧸 4:00 PM – Play, Treats, Repeat
Afternoons are Bruno’s playful hours. He grabs his favorite rubber duck toy and drops it in front of me with a huff — clearly asking for playtime. After a bit of tug-of-war or a slow chase around the living room, he gets his reward: a peanut butter treat that’s vet-approved and allergy-friendly.
🌇 6:30 PM – Family Time & Hopeful Eyes
During dinner, Bruno always joins us at the table — not to eat, but to stare longingly with his giant, pleading eyes. We don’t feed him from the table, but he still hopes... every night. His face alone makes you want to share a bite, but we stay strong.
🌙 9:00 PM – Bedtime Vibes
As the day winds down, Bruno hops onto the bed, circles twice, and flops down with a sigh. His blanket and toys are always in the same spot — this boy loves routine. I whisper “Good night, Bruno,” and he gives me one final tail wag before drifting into another round of bulldog snores.read more...
💬 Final Thoughts
Bulldogs may not be the most energetic breed, but what they lack in zoomies, they make up for in character, loyalty, and hilarious expressions. Bruno is more than just a pet — he’s part of the family. Every small moment, every goofy snore, every lazy cuddle makes my day better.
